AVKO comes from Audio, Visual, Kinesthetic, & Oral a multi-sensory approach.
One Free book with each order. May be new or used. Two FREE books with every order over $50.00. One New & One Used. Orders over $100.00 will receive 4 books. Choose your own category of books from and let us know the approximate grade level (K-3, 4-6, 7-12).
We are able to give these away because they were donated to us either by NAEIR or school libraries. Some are new. Some are discards. Just let us know when you order in the message column at the bookstore which kind of books you would like.
AVKO's Research Director, Don McCabe, will give free training in the art of tutoring to homeschoolers who live close enough to travel to our headquarters. AVKO will also give workshops at homeschool conferences helping parents in the art of tutoring reading, spelling, handwriting, and keyboarding. April 13-14 MACHE, Rochester, Minnesota April 20-21 MACHE, Frederick, Maryland May 4-5, INCH, Lansing, Michigan On May 8-10 A Special AVKO Workshop will be held in Beaufort, SC for Homeschoolers with dyslexic and/or dysgraphic children. Limited to 15, so sign up quickly. Any parent or representative of a homeschooling organization who visits the AVKO Foundation's Free Reading Clinic will receive free a minimum of $25.00 worth of new trade books. AVKO's Bernice Webb Memorial Library housed at the Reading Clinic provides an extensive collection of books on the teaching of reading as well as an extensive collection of books for reading.
All donations are greatly appreciated.
